He was predeceased by: his parents, Justin Auer and Henrietta Auer (Mary Catherine Asbach); his brother Michael Auer; his wife Mary Hewett; and his siblings, Joyce Herzog (Paul), Daniel Auer and Ron Auer.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Saylors (Roy) of Wyoming, Kathleen Joseph (Tom) of Glendale and Steven Auer (Raquel) of High Springs; his daughter-in-law Kathy Auer of Cottonwood; and his sister-in-law Patricia Auer of Cincinnati. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
