He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Thomas Dawson, Sr. and Juanita Mae Westfall Dawson; his siblings, Leann Camacho, Tony Medjesky and Janet Viebrock; his foster parents, Theodore Sturgeon (Shorty) and Jewell Sturgeon; and his grandson Owen Conklin.
He is survived by: his children, Jason Dawson (Stephanie) of Mason, OH and Jennifer Conklin (Josh) of Indianapolis, IN; his grandchildren, Jack Dawson, Norah Dawson, Tate Conklin and Taylynn Conklin; his nephew JT Dillingham (Jara) of Newburgh; his niece Angie Perry (Michael) of Tucson, AZ; his sister-in-law Judy Mehringer (Ron) of Jasper, IN; his nephew Chad Mehringer (Brandee) of Winslow, IN; his niece Gina Mehringer of Jasper, IN; and his pet Daisy.
