He was predeceased by: his wife Peggy Sue Maxfield; and his child Beverly Rhea Williams. He is survived by: his son Jeffrey Maxfield (Debra); and his grandchildren, Stephanie Maxfield-Williams (Mitchell) and Logan Maxfield. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice of Cincinnati or Bethany Church.
