He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Hogrefe and Beulah Hogrefe (Henricks); his brother Ken Hogrefe; his siblings-in-law, Dale Frank, Cindy Lemon and Colleen Hogrefe; and his son-in-law Larry Born.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Lemon of Napoleon, Ohio.; his daughters, Pat Walter (Terry), Peg Gilgenbach, Pam Born and Paula Moriarty (Tom); his grandchildren, Kristen Shaneyfelt (Mike), Kelly Borstelman (Gary Epley), Justin Winters (Becky), Steve Walter (Taylor), Kate Pflum (Ben), Megan Born, Brian Moriarty (Caitlyn) and Allison Moriarty (Zack Rollf); his sisters, Arlene Frank and Carol Hazlett (Charlie); and his brother-in-law Rich Lemon (Lisa). He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren.
