He was predeceased by: his parents, Heber Hines and Marjorie McConnell Hines; his daughter Melinda Ann Hines; his brother Gerald Hines; and his daughter-in-law Christine M. Hines.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Hercher Hines; his children, Michael Hines (Rita) of Tallmadge, Ohio and Julie (Daniel); his brothers, Bernard "Bud" Hines (Virginia) of Marietta, Ralph Hines (Sandra) of Reno and Myron Hines (Anne) of Celina, Ohio; his grandchildren, Heather, Renee Hines, Haley Haines, Dylan and Justin Haines; his stepgrandsons, Nathan Mugford (Rebecca), Jacob Mugford (Terri Lynn), Michael Mugford (Amanda) and Adam Mugford; and also, Katelyn, Brayden, Jack, Claire, Mackenzie, Logan, Audrey, Aaron, Elijah, Lincoln and Jameson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
