He was predeceased by : his parents, Irvin "Bud" Young and Eva Jean Brown (Norris Young); his grandparents, William and Julia Young; his daughter Kimberly Poorman; and his siblings, Phyllis Yoho and Gary Brown.

He is survived by : his wife Connie Bach; his children, Christopher Young and Amanda Stuart (Heath); his son-in-law Arthur Poorman; his grandchildren, Emma, Griffin, Megan, Gavin and Blake; and his siblings, Rodney Young, Larry Brown, Rhonda Jackson, Donna Mead and Delilah Noll.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Lewisville Church of Christ, Lewisville Volunteer Fire Department or the Monroe County Veterans.
