He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles L. Byers and Elma H. Thompson Byers; his brothers, James L. and Billy Jo Byers; and his father-in-law Fred McLaughlin.
He is survived by: his wife Rita McLaughlin Byers; his children, Dorinda Biehl (Eddy), Theresa Yaple (Will), Sarah Burkhart (Darin), Charles and Stephen Byers; and his grandchildren, Cierra Burkhart, Braxton, Brielle and Brooks Byers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to St. Michael Catholic Church.
