He was predeceased by : his parents, Bryan Smith and Opal Coss Smith; his daughter Barbara Smith; and his sisters, Mary Cline and Dorothy McKnight.

He is survived by : his grandson Colton Renner of New Matamoras, Ohio.; and his former life partner Sandy Smith of Belpre, Ohio.
