He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin N. Shirey and Dorothy Shirey (Todd); his wife Marjorie Ann Shirey (Whitmer); his daughter Dottie Elliott; and his brothers, John and Bob Shirey.
He is survived by: his son Edwin T. Shirey (Paula) of Lewistown, DJ; his grandchildren, Eric Elliot (Brenda) of Virginia, Heather Anders (Jeff) of Springfield, Dan Shirey of Lima and David Shirey (Billie) of Russells Point; his stepgrandson C. J. Cummins of Tennessee; and his siblings, Bill Shirey (Edwin) of Lewistown, Corrine Smith of Springfield, Barb Huffman of Springfield, Judy Shelby of Florida and Dorothy Burke of Arizona. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
