He was predeceased by: his son Leroy Chavez; his grandson Bernardo Rincon; his great grandchild Maya Marie Schroeder; and his brother Alberto Chavez. He is survived by: his spouse Josefina Castillo; his children, Mrythala Calderon (Emiliano) of Waco, Rosaura Hernandez (Esmael) of Leipsic, Pedro Chavez, Jr. of Alto, GA and Perla Chavez of Pandora; his grandchildren, Belyna Rodriguez (Rolando), Adrian Chavez, Pricilla Baney, Katrina Perez (Juan), Shannon Baney and Emilio Calderon; and his siblings, Esperanza Castillo of Ottawa, Consuela Ledezma of La Feria, TX, Gregora Scogin of La Feria, TX, Maria Arriaga of La Feria, TX and Santos I. Chavez, Sr. of Gilboa. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
