He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Niese and Frances Niese (Schroeder); his brothers, Carl (Marietta), Victor (Monica) and Bill Niese; and his brother-in-law Harold Roebke.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Schmenk; his children, Barbara Meyer (Robert) of Oak Harbor, Sue McDaniel (Punky) of Leipsic, Michael Niese (Kathryn) of Ottawa, Catherine Fortman (John) of Ottawa, Steven Niese (Deborah) of Leipsic, Mark Niese (Christine) of Leipsic, Mary Jo Bodart (Joe) of Nicholasville, KY, Patty Giesken (Tom) of Glandorf, Julie Breece (Bernie) of Ottawa, Dale Niese (Jodi) of Leipsic, Dorothy Lammers (Terry) of Leipsic, Christine Chapman (Alex) of Columbus and Roger Niese (Georgette) of Leipsic; his siblings, Frank Niese (Janice) of Ottawa, Marilyn Roebke of Columbus Grove, Martha Turnwald (Don) of Kalida and Pat Fuerst (Karl) of Glandorf; and his sister-in-law JoAnn Niese of Leipsic.
Memorials can be made to St. Mary's School, Putnam County Hospice, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
