He was predeceased by: his son Charles Leonard Bennett Jr.; his daughter-in-law Shelly Bennett; and his sister Gordia Dean. He is survived by: his children, Bernie Bennett, Dawn Funk, Michael Bennett (Paulette), Richard Bennett, Allan Bennett, Brian Bennett (Stacey) and Jami Fleck (Brian); his siblings, Harry Bennett, Linda Goodman, Georgia Salisbury, Janice Siebeneck, Becky Schilperoot and Debra Byrd; and his wife Glenda. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
