David G Adams Obituary

David G. Adams 64, of Leetonia, died peacefully Sunday afternoon, January 1, 2023, at his home.

He was born on April 18, 1958 in Salem, the son of the late Calvin and Betty Jane (McGuire) Adams.

He has been a resident of the area his whole life. David was currently working for the Salem Parks and Recreations Department. He also was the one who made sure all the baseball fields were always ready for the games.

He had served as a Cross Country/Track Coach in Leetonia, but was always seen around running in the mornings and evenings every day until recently. There were many local marathons held, it was not uncommon to see him out with the young people running and turning back to coach them. A very faithful attender of any of the nieces and nephews sporting events. David also enjoyed spending time at home being busy and doing wood working projects. When he was able, visits were made to his daughters home in Virginia, to spend time with them and his beautiful grand daughters. David knew a host of people in the area, both young and old. His life and dedication to the Salem Parks Department and the care of the ball fields allowed him to touch the lives of many people and a mentor to the young people.

He is survived by his daughter; Sheene (Timothy) Johnson, grand daughters; Neva and Amalie Johnson all of Portsmouth, Va., (They are local residents, but are currently living near the US Navy base where Tim is stationed) siblings; Cheryl (Robert) Faulkner of Leetonia, Kay Lake and James Adams both of Salem, Richard Brown of Hawley, Pa., Larry (Angel) Adams of Republic of the Philippines and Steve Adams of Sebring.

In addition to his parents, preceded in death by three siblings; Timothy and Terry Adams and Judith Bistarkey.

Services 4 Pm Saturday at Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem. A time of. Visitation will be from 2-4 Pm on Saturday. Pastor Matt Phillips of the Lisbon Baptist Temple will be officiating. He will be laid to rest at Grandview Cemetery in Salem.
