He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Abel and Laura J. Abel (Harshey); and his siblings, William Abel and Ruby Bake. He is survived by: his wife Sharon L. Abel (Knight); his children, Sherry J. Byrd (Rick) of Tennessee and George S. Abel (Leeann) of Dellroy, OH; and his sisters, Helen Harshey of Uhrichsville, Mary Snively of Uhrichsville and Linda Kay Briggs of Highland.
