With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lester Leroy Shoemaker Sr. of Leesburg, Ohio, who passed away on January 12, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Edsel and Dorothy Shoemaker (Brown); his wife Hazel Christine Shoemaker; and his siblings, Beverly, Betty, Gladys, Shirley, John, Raymond and Alfred.
He is survived by: his children, Sherryll Cordrey (David) of Lynchburg, Lester Jr. Shoemaker (Leslie) of Leesburg, James Shoemaker (Rose) of Leesburg and Stephanie Vetter (Dale) of Burlington; and his grandchildren, Tracy, Brad, Jeremy, Jerrod, Lesley, Tyler, Trevor, Chipper, Seth, Jason, Mandy, Heather, Jaime, Johnny and Kayla. He is also survived by several great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Turner Funeral Home (73 E Main St, Leesburg, OH 45135). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
