He was predeceased by: his father Howard; his wife Joan R. Briggs; and his siblings, Janet Smith, Guy, Wayne, John, Paul and Dale Spurlock.
He is survived by: his sons, Rick (Sherry) of Cummings, GA, Jimmy Spurlock of Wilmington and Steve Spurlock of Wilmington; his siblings, Estel (Patty), Roger (Connie), Larry (Kathy), Terry Spurlock (Kim), Marcie Spurlock and Roxie Woods (Sonny Morgan); his close friend Patty Carson; and also Jim. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
