He was predeceased by: his mother Joanne Knedler. He is survived by: his father Thomas Ely of Irmo; his son Chase Ely (Sabria) of London, Ohio; his granddaughter Evelyn Ely; his siblings, Charles Ely (Kelly) of New Vienna, Thomas Ely (Thelma) of Council Bluffs, Paula Simmons (Dirk) of Leesburg and Sherry Pelletier of Simpsonville; and his close friend Kevin Fugate. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
