She was predeceased by: her parents, Clara Richards and Thornton Kimbrough Richards; her husband Charles Gillespie; her siblings, Nell Flower, William, James and Robert Richards; and her son-in-law Ernie Sword.

She is survived by: her daughters, Patricia Gillespie and Judith Sword; her granddaughter Emily White (Jason); her great grandchildren, Claire and Owen White; and her brother Carroll Richards. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
