He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Nathan Adkins and Elvira Jane Nellist; his son David Jr.; and his siblings, Jean Malone and Steven Ray.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his sons, Mark Adkins (Billie) and Shane Adkins (Rachel); his grandchildren, Faith Jacob (Ralph), Samuel Adkins, Kara Adkins, Seth Adkins and Nicolas Adkins; his great grandchildren, Caleb and Daniel; and his siblings, Jan Eilders (Dick), Larry Adkins (Barb) and Jane Ann Wilson (Leon).
