He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Brokaw and Margaret Brokaw (Hettinger); his wife JoAnne Brokaw (Pritchard); his grandson Jonathan Shaw; his siblings, Ronald Brokaw, Gary Brokaw, Larry Brokaw and Kay Ebert; and his children-in-law, Michael Karshner and Connie Brokaw (Norton).
He is survived by: his children, Lee Brokaw (Rose), Jackie Karshner, David Brokaw (Ruby), Jeff Brokaw (Bridget), Trisha Shaw (Mike), Debbie Hattey (Bob) and Stephen Brokaw (Cathy); his grandchildren, Ryan Brokaw (Samantha), Angie Brokaw, Kyle Hartley (Becca), Kayla Wiggins, Chelsey Baum, Melissa Karshner, Stephanie Karshner, Haley-Jo Shaw, Stacey Brokaw, Jacob Brokaw, Emily Hattey and Conner Brokaw; and his siblings, Melvin Brokaw, Sue Garrett and Patricia Leach. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, family members and friends.
