He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Emerson and Edna Iona Pierce (Minnich); his wife Juva Jean Pierce (Spitler); and his siblings, Jim Pierce, Randy Pierce, Billy Pierce, Ted Pierce, Marion Pierce and Janet Helgason.
He is survived by: his son Richard "Rick", Jr.; his daughter-in-law Karen Pierce of Laura; his grandchildren, Heather, Derek Long of Tipp City, Chad and Ciara Pierce of Englewood; his great grandchildren, Aiden Long, Zoey Long, Noah Pierce, Carter Pierce and Kolten Pierce; and his siblings, Dale (Alice Pierce), Doug (Christina Pierce), Charlene (Jim Moore) and Pam (Dan Mote).
