Though James may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Billy Duane and Susanne Coate (Brumbaugh); and his sister Malinda Susan Bowman. He is survived by: his wife Carol Anne Coate (Netzley); his sons, Bill Glenn Coate of Brookville and Anthony "Tony" James Coate of Laura; and his siblings, Steve Coate (Jamie) of Ostrander and Margie Coate of Laura.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Milton-Union Alumni Association or Hospice of Miami County.
