He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Besecker and Bertha Besecker (Williams); his son Bradley Besecker; and his siblings, Carl Besecker and Corene Bucholtz.

He is survived by: his wife Eula Jean Besecker (Myers); and his children, Debora Hickman (Rick) of Sidney, Beth Hirschy (Roger) of Winchester, Lorie Snider (Steven) of Yorktown and David Besecker (Gail) of Arcanum. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

If so desired, contributions may be made in Donovan's memory to the Potsdam Church of the Brethren Disaster Relief Fund.
