Virginia Irene Tanner Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virginia Irene Tanner of Lancaster, Ohio, who passed away on January 2, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Robert; her granddaughter Bobbie Jean; her parents, John Leonard and Alma Leonard; and her siblings, James, Jack, Joseph, Carol and Diane.
She is survived by: her children, Deborah Austin and Robert Tanner (Christina); her grandchildren, Carl Headley (Rhonda), Tabbitha Prentice (Aaron), Shad Austin, Jillian Papio (Anthony) and Maggie Ricketts (Hunter); and her sisters, Mary Haney, Ruth Cochenour, Kay Hendricks and Patricia Sayre (Jim). She is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel - Lancaster (405 N Columbus St, Lancaster, OH 43130). Viewing was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church (1910 Marietta Rd, Lancaster, OH 43130). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
