He was predeceased by: his parents, Hensley Belcher and Nona Belcher (Elswick); his wife Elizabeth; his stepmother Vicie Belcher; his siblings, Bobby, Willie, Ruey, Pauline Belcher and Anna Justus; and his son-in-law Don Fowler.

He is survived by: his daughter Etta Fowler; and his grandsons, Sean (Jane Schneider-Fowler) and Todd Fowler.
