He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Laird and Florence Laird (Nickelworth); his former wife Barbara Laird; his son Jamie Laird; his grandson Michael Messmore; his brother Lewis Laird (Naomi); and his son-in-law Larry Montoney.
He is survived by: his wife Mary A. Laird; his daughters, Amelia Messmore (Jeff), Tina Montoney, Waynette Wills (Todd) and Sandy Davis (Michael Moore); his stepchildren, Harry Canter (Paula), Sheri Ann Fullen (Kenny), Julie Leach (David), Thomas McClain (Sondra) and Iona Pope; and his nieces, Elesa Stout (Carl), Kim Laird and Lou Anjanette Laird. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
