With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Jane Elder of Lancaster, Ohio, who passed away on January 6, 2025 at the age of 85. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary Jane Elder to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert King and Mary King (Ebbrecht); her husband Robert H. Elder (Bob); her son David Michael Elder; her sisters, Rosalie and Helen King; her parents-in-law, Ruth and Hallie Elder; and her brothers-in-law, Ralph Pierce, Robert Trego and Michael "Mick" Elder.
She is survived by: her children, Mark Elder of Lancaster and Lori Williams (Brad) of Canal Winchester; her grandchildren, Brian Elder, Steve Elder (Rachael), Elesha Elder and Ashley Williams; her great grandchildren, Kaleb, Luke Elder, Alek Artman and Alice Jane Elder; her stepgreat-granddaughter Haylee Wion; her siblings, Diane King of Lancaster, Julia Trego (Judy) of Lancaster and Virgil King (Jo Ann) of Canal Winchester; her sister-in-law Doris Pierce of Lancaster; and her close friends, Kathy and Carl Dennsion of Lancaster. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sheridan Funeral Home (222 S Columbus St, Lancaster, OH 43130). A vigil service was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 at 7:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church (132 S High St, Lancaster, OH 43130).
In lieu of flowers, family requests contributions to Foundation Dinners or the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
