He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Raymond and Agnes May Seymour Sr (Day); his sisters, Roberta Swickard and Elsie Labon; his nephew Anthony Labon; and his great-nephew Robert Charles Clark.

He is survived by: his wife Julia A. Seymour (Malenovsky); his children, Lisa Seymour Jones, Joseph John Seymour Jr (Sheila Dauterman), Debra Seymour Ahn, Jeffery Seymour (Kerry Major) and Thomas Seymour (Andrea Borders); his grandchildren, Brian, James, Shauna, Matthew, Aaron, Alex, Tyler and Cooper; his great grandchild Liam; and his brother Albert Seymour (Cindy). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
