He was predeceased by: his wife Jane Steinmetz; his parents, Raymond Steinmetz and Marvene Steinmetz; and his siblings, Raymond Steinmetz and Lillian Shonebarger.

He is survived by: his daughters, Tamara Dillon (Thomas) of Lancaster, Polly Johnson (Joe Dan) of Arrington, Virginia and Patricia Belcher (Christopher) of Grove City, Ohio; his grandchildren, Scott Dillon (Nancy), Cheryl Thompson (Sean) and Lindsey Garza (Joel); his great grandchildren, Saige, Beau, Cienna, Colyn, Sabastian, Gabriela and Julia; and his great great grandchild Reagan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
