He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Wesley and Velma Giesey (McCabe); his adoptive parents, Reuben, Emma Shultz, Elmer Moore and Jerry; his siblings, Rex Russell and Bernice Blough; and also, Jerry Lee Jr. and Jamie Douglas Schultz.

He is survived by: his children, Rod (Beth), Mark Schultz (Theresa) and Christine Schultz; and his friend Norma Jean Schultz. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
