James Merk Obituary

He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert (Idella Merk) and Dr. Merk; and his son David Merk. He is survived by: his wife Rita Mae Merk (Trentman); and his children, Christine Welte (Steve), Therese Bowes (Joseph), Mary Kay Kusner (David), James Merk, Rita Crow (Eric), Paul Merk and Michael Merk. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

A wake was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sheridan Funeral Home (222 S Columbus St, Lancaster, OH 43130). A rosary was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Bernadette Catholic Church (1343 Wheeling Rd, Lancaster, OH 43130).
