He was predeceased by: his wife Linda Buckalew; his parents, Okey Buckalew and Wavie Buckalew; his parents-in-law, Harry and Lillian Porter; his brother-in-law Ron Porter; his daughter-in-law Stacey Buckalew; and his brothers, Walter (Janie), Erston (Betty), Ray (Billy), Kline (Margaret), James (Pat) and Shirley (Helen Buckalew).

He is survived by: his friends, Carol Mack, Jim, Diane McCoy, Roger, Babs Woods, Bill and Loretta Boyer; his close friend Ralph Tipton; his children, Darla Taylor (Tom) of Amanda, Ohio, Jay Buckalew of Lancaster, Ohio and Chad Buckalew of Lancaster, Ohio; his grandchildren, Matt Buckalew (Sarah), Wayne Stoneburner (Misty), Justin Caughenbaugh (Lindsai), Liberty Buckalew, Ashley Mulrooney (Joe) and Derek Buckalew; and his great grandchildren, Lillian, Blake, Nolan Buckalew, Jett, Piper Caughenbaugh, Austin, Cadence, Bronson, Benson, Braxton Stoneburner and Kade Mulrooney. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
