He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert McManus and Alicemae McManus (Shimonek); his former wife Marleen Kay McManus (Hendershot); and his brother Richard Scott McManus. He is survived by: his wife Emeline "Emmy" Dillon McManus; his children, Julie Van Meter (Richard), Rodney "Buzz" McManus (Stephanie) and Rob McManus (Melinda); his grandchildren, Bryan Barnes, Emily Russell (Phillip), Haydn McManus (Taylor), Cody McManus (Michelle), Tyler McManus (Natalie) and Alexander Van Meter; his great grandchildren, Hadley McManus and Meyers McManus; his partner's sons, Emmy, Robert "Rob" Dillon (Karla) and Christopher "Chris" Dillon (Laura); and his siblings, Gene McManus (Dixie), Chris McManus, Linda Gassmann (Fred), Therese McManus and Joy Harris. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
