He was predeceased by: his brother William "Bill" Abel (Patricia). He is survived by: his wife Maureen; his son Donald Joseph Abel (Zoe); his brother Allen Abel (Janis); his nieces, Carolyn Douglas (Michael) and Jennifer Miller (Gregory); his nephew Michael Abel (Tiffany); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Addison Joy, Larkin Grace, Rose Marcella (Miller), Avery Grace (Douglas), Walter Jerry Abel and Bo William Miller.
