He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Nugent and Ruth Nugent; his aunt Etta Mahoney; and his brothers, William-D (Teresa) and Joseph-D (Lin).

He is survived by: his son Michael Roarty-Nugent; his grandson Jay; his close friend Susan Roarty; and his siblings, Anne, Edward (Linda), Albert (Donna), Patrick (Barb), Mary Therese McGinty (Tom) and Ruthmarie Hovanec (Mel). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews, friends.
