He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Kathryn "Katie" Spurrier; and his parents, Robert Spurrier and Ada Spurrier. He is survived by: his children, Patty Dete (Joe), Tim (Sharen) and Molly McNeeley (Pat); his grandchildren, Taylor Young (Nick), Matthew Lynch, Tara Valco, Brendan Lynch, Aidan Lynch, Joshua Dete, Quinn Lynch, Charlie Spurrier and Julia Dete; and his sister Donna "Bobbie" Spurrier.

Family suggests any memorial contributions be made to the scholarship funds at St. Ignatius High School or Holy Name High School.
