He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward J. Cihla and Beatrice Cihla (Geller); his former wife Louise Szinai; his son Edward R. Cihla, Jr.; his great grandchild Darcy Rubino; and his siblings, Ann Marie Marchese (Michael) and Gary Bilek.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Koops; his children, Stephen Cihla (Debra) of Elyria, Susan Cihla of Port Clinton, Donna Rice (James) of Elyria and Mark Nichols (Cindy) of Akron; and his siblings, Phyllis Soinski (Robert) of Seven Hills, OH and Elmer Bilek (Patricia) of Macedonia, OH.. He is also survived by five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
