He was predeceased by: his mother Shirley Sawyers; and his siblings, Connie Sawyers, Robert Sawyers, John Sawyers and Jerry Sawyers.
He is survived by: his wife Lorrie Sawyers; his son Thad Sawyers; and his granddaughter Maddy Sawyers. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
