She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Sonner and Helen Sonner (Secor); her husband Merril Shaffer; her siblings, Dorothy Samson and Dean Sonner; and her son-in-law Larry Shaner.
She is survived by: her children, Debra Donaldson of Perrysburg, Danny Shaffer (Sandra), Nancy Shaner of Bowling Green and Michael Shaffer (Kellie Flood). She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
