He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonzo and Ella Lee Slayton (Boggs); his son Frank A. Slayton; and his siblings, Wayne Slayton and Connie Slayton.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte A. Leaman; his children, Bryon R. Slayton (Robin) of Mansfield, Ella I. Sigler (Dan) of Overton and Kerensa M. Wilstead (Jason) of Goodyear, Arizona; and his brother Dale Slayton of Broadview Heights, Ohio.. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.
