He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Murphy and Juanita Murphy (Holden); his brothers, Robert and James Murphy; and his son Donald Murphy.

He is survived by: his wife Ruby J. Leiss; his son David Murphy (Mary) of Kenton; and his great grandchildren, Jessica Black (Anthony) of Kenton, Stephanie Hilsher (Wes) of Kenton and Danielle Murphy (Jeremy Hay) of Texas.

Memorial donations in William's honor may be made to Tranquility Hospice.
