He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Oates and Mary Oates (Dodds); and his former wife Shirley Mae Oates. He is survived by: his son Geoff Oates of New Bloomington; his grandchildren, Heather A. Oates of New Bloomington and Jordan Oates (Destiny) of Green Camp; his great grandchildren, Raelynn and Jaxon; and his brother Gary Oates (Carol) of Kenton. He is also survived by his family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids.
