She was predeceased by: her parents, Gilbert Gunnels and Thelma Gunnels (Boswell); her husband Edwin Donathan; her sister Marie; and her grandson Ryan Donathan.
She is survived by: her children, Renee Bierly (Michael) of Harrod, John Donathan (Francine) of Delphos, Larry Donathan (Lisa) of Loudonville, Gary Donathan of Wapakoneta and Eddie Donathan of Kenton; her siblings, Gill Gunnels of Florida, Jerry Gunnels (Syvel) of Lake Orion, Glen Gunnels (Joani) of Florida and Sue Davis (Dan) of Cadillac; and her pets, Oliver and Billy Jo. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations in Shelby's honor may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Hardin County Humane Society.
