She was predeceased by: her father Walter Ralph; her husband Richard Leroy Bacon; her brothers, Ralph, Richard, Paul and Gerald Hastings; and her close friend Martha Hodge.
She is survived by: her son Michael Todd Bacon (Christine) of Dunkirk; her grandchildren, Michelle Mowery (Rodney) of Ada and Kevin Bacon of Dunkirk; and her great grandchildren, Faith LaPlant and Brynlee LaPlant. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joan's honor may be made to the Grant Fellowship Church or Not By Choice.
