He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Long and Anita Long (Combs); his former wife Brenda Clock; his wife Judy Everhart; his children, Jamie Long, Tara Long (Chuck Burris) of Kenton and Nikki Manns of Kenton; his stepdaughter Jennifer Dal Polo (Orlando) of Kenton; his siblings, Connie Sheets (David) of Kenton, Judy Kendrick of Kenton, Jerry Long (Helen) of Kenton and James Long (Fonda) of Decatur, IN; his grandchildren, Brittany Saxton (Francis), Cierra Manns, Mackena Manns, Cayden Waller, Kayce Sherman, Beth Parker (Jeremy), Devin Dal Polo, Matthew Dal Polo, Amanda Dal Polo, Alexander Dal Polo (Britt) and Nathan Dal Polo; and his brother-in-law Alan Kendrick. He was also cherished by 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rhinehart Church.
