He was predeceased by: his parents, John L. Newland and Janette Newland (Burden); his daughters, Dorothy Horn and Penny Prater; and his siblings, Lucy Newland, Lawrence Newland, Robert Newland, Don Newland and John Newland.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Jean Scott; his children, Cheri Dye (Larry), Marcia Kinnear (Ronald), Tammy Baldwin (Clayton), Paul Newland Jr. (Chris) and Tommy Newland; and his siblings, Bill Newland, Joan Vires, Beatty Richardson and Kay Horn. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren.
