He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Downey and Letitia Downey (Coy); his wife Alice Downey (Parker); and his siblings, Victor, Roy, Gail, Sarah Spencer, Mildred Wilkinson and Hazel Ray.
He is survived by: his children, Boyd Downey (Terri) of Kenton and Cindy LaBoiteaux of Highland Heights, KY; his grandchildren, Brooke Purcell (Brett) of Kenton, Jesse Downey (Bethany) of Galena, OH, Parker LaBoiteaux (Kari) of Alexandria, KY and Curtis LaBoiteaux of Taylor Mill, KY; and his great grandchildren, Gabriel, Lianna Purcell, Emma, Olivia Downey and Hudson LaBoiteaux. He is also survived by his son & grandson and good friends.
