He was predeceased by: his father James "Bob" Hites; his daughter Tammy Wright; his granddaughter Sara; and his brothers, Russell, Michael and Jerry.
He is survived by: his spouse Jeri Lynne Morris; his children, Wendy Bristoll of Kenton and James Hites, Jr. (Lisa) of Alger; his grandchildren, Jake, Seth, Shea, Kylie and Jerin; and his great grandchild Karder.
