He was predeceased by: his parents, Mamie Elizabeth James (Groves) and John Lemuel James; and his siblings, Mildred Hill (John), Ruth Akers (Earl) and Richard James (Sybil).
He is survived by: his spouse Jackie (Jones); his children, Deborah Kay Mahler (Brian) of Marion and Christopher Earl James (Staci) of Ridgeway, Ohio.; his grandchildren, Jordan Hurst of Elizabeth City, Wyatt James of Kenton, Carson James of Ridgeway, Ohio. and Lily James of Ridgeway, Ohio.; and his sisters, Helen Thompson (Doug) of Bellefontaine and Norma Jean Stanbro (Karl) of Franklinville, N. Y.
