He was predeceased by: his brother Tony Szambecki; his nephew Aaron Szambecki; and his parents, Ed Szambecki and Vivian Szambecki. He is survived by: his wife Martha; his children, Jeremiah "Jay", Shannon Szambecki, Jenni Szambecki, Brant Benninga and Kate Szambecki (Martha); his grandchildren, Tessa Szambecki Toy, Colton Toy, Reed Szambecki, Emily Benninga, Maddie Szambecki, Dalton Rush and Shawn Sheesley; and his sister-in-law Diana Szambecki (family: Lee, Katie, Liam, Irene Szambecki, Shea, David, Drew Loper). He is also survived by nephew and family.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Shalom Mennonite Church (800 E 1st St, Newton, KS 67114).
Gifts may be made in Tom's honor to either Shalom Mennonite Church or a charity of your choice.
